This is a demo movie made using the Casio EX-F1, the video is to help people having a hard time deciding if it's worth the money. I certainly think it's worth it, and have been having a blast with this camera. Hope you enjoy the video!

The EX-F1 records at the following resolutions (which are all seen in this video):

300fps @ 512x384
600fps @ 432x192
1200fps @ 336X96

The EX-F1 does NOT record sound during high-speed recording, and you also CANNOT ZOOM during high speed recording (you can set the zoom before recording though)... As of September 30th, 2008, the EX-F1 is priced between $700-$900 USD. Feel free to message me!

Some more info about the other features on the camera:

There is no doubt of the ridiculously fast 60 frames-per-second shooting speed of the camera, amazing for catching every nuance of a particular act (bike jump, baseball pitch, backflip, etc...) The photos themselves are not bad, in fact they are pretty good. But if you're going strictly for photography though (in the price range of the Casio Ex F1), I would reccommend something like a Canon or Nikon DSLR, they are very versatile and known for their spectacular image quality.

The HD video is very good, very close to my Sony HC-3 High-Def camcorder. However, they are in Quicktime Format when put on your computer. This may be harder or easier to work with depending on your setup and software. Conversion usually involves paying for software or illegally (not reccommended) obtaining. And as with ANY High-Def format, conversion can be very time-consuming, again - based on your hardware/software setup.

  • Cool video. Man I'd love to live on a farm - looks like fun.

  • Yeah it's not actually my place, my best friends', no farm but decent amount of land, unlike where I live, Chicago suburbs lol... But the potential to do just about anything is there :)

  • Regarding the shutter speed and high speed video, someone told me that in high speed video mode, the camera forces the shutter speed to be the same as the frame rate. That doesn't sound right to me, as it would result in a lot of motion blur of fast moving subjects. Can you adjust the shutter speed during high speed video mode?

  • I saw one video from a guy with this camera who actually captured a 9mm bullet traveling through the air. He set his to 1/40000 and 1200 fps. "Shooting a steel plate in slo-mo"

I think the best shots with this camera in slo mo is in bright daylight.

  • I can't emphasize enough how shooting in daylight is THE single most important element in using the EX-F1's High-Speed recording mode. Don't ever expect to get anything even remotely respectable shooting in High-Speed while indoors, unless you have a ridiculous light setup.

  • Unfortunately, you can't change the shutter speed during High-Speed recording.

  • Can you use the 12x optical in HD record mode? does it use autofocus?

Also it their a manual zoom/focus option?

  • I haven't seen too much information on how the camera shoots stills with low light. What's your experience? I'm still hoping to get this camera for Christmas. Come on Santa!

  • shopcartusa, meh, I wouldn't risk sending my money to those guys. I'd rather pay a couple hundred dollars more and know I would get a camera than risk getting 663 swindled from me. I read quite a few bad stories about shoptcartusa.

  • I believe the video format is MPEG. The interface cable is a USB. I am sure you could also pop the memory card into a card reader too. I'm sure it would work with a Mac.
