The Sad Song (original song)

This is just a silly thing I wrote for my kids when they were younger and still had tantrums and crankiness. I'd play this and eventually they'd snap out of it and just dance to the song. It got to the point where I could just hum "I'm gonna be sad..." if they started to misbehave in public and they'd straighten right up. Some kind of Pavlovian action was going on there, I suppose.

Oh, by the way... the scowling face is part of the song. You have to PLAY it happy, but you don't SING it happy. I don't know why that's so but it is. The talking bit... "Now it's time for the sad dance..." is also part of the song.

It's basically a variation of the old, "Nobody likes me / Everybody hates me / I'm gonna eat some worms" theme. This song goes a long way towards explaining why I rarely write my own lyrics. I've repeatedly asked me to do more, but I won't allow it, and I think it's best that I defer to my judgment in this matter.

This song is a lot of fun. Congrats on passing the 1000 views mark. It's funny what catches on with the public. My most viewed song is also one of my silliest; sort of a tossed off, novelty song that has been in my catalog for 25 years now, "The Cantaloupe Song." My most viewed video is a tiny animated walk-cycle I did while experimenting with a bit of Animation Software. It's a strange lesson, the more effort and thought I put into videos (which isn't much), the less views they get!
