I met Clara in 1960,my manager was friends with her son,and they both knew how I adored Clara,so they took me to me to meet my Idol,she was most gracious,and I knew she had very few people she allowed in her private world,we talked for several hours,she signed a photo for me,and allowed to have one taken of the two of us,it is one of my most cherished above all.Sincerely,The Original Chevelles,Chuck.

what was her real hair color? as much as i like clara i know that's not a natural shade of red (i know it's tinted for the colors but still)

Real hair color? Well... it was as real as Lucille Ball's....
The tinting is correct -- I used several period paintings of Clara from the 1920s to make certain I'd gotten it right. If anything, what I did is toned down from the reality of it. However, it's also pretty clear Clara dyed it that color, as its -- as you say -- not quite natural.
