Igniting 1000 of my paper cranes on a grill in my backyard.

I contacted Kristian Dunn before creating the video and he personally gave me permission to use El Ten Eleven's 'Thinking Loudly' from their debut album to accompany the video. Give them a listen, their music is truly beautiful.

  • Well, your 1000 burnt paper cranes became an offering to some divine spirit. Hopefully, you made a wish.

  • @Yinyang4ify Yes, I did! Thanks so much for watching, and I love your username. ;)

  • thats not real!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @loveisabel19iscool I assure you it's real. Unfortunately, I didn't have an HD camera in 2008, only HQ, so it can be hard to tell. If you watch the whole video, watch when I zoom in; the cranes are real, individually folded and made from unique colored papers. :) What makes you think it's not real?

By the way, I've recently folded another set of 1000, and now I own an HD camcorder. Would you be interested this video filmed in 1080p from multiple angles? Thanks for your time!

  • so... you wished for fire

  • @fieldingcarroll I didn't think by making paper cranes I was committing to an act of kindness whose potential I destroy in this video. Unfortunately I'm not very altruistic, and my intent wasn't to directly please children. In fact, I hadn't children on my mind at all when I made them; it was simply to pass time.

I'm sorry I disappointed you... but, if I gave them to 1000 children, that would be one paper crane for each child, and I doubt one paper crane would be significant to a child.

  • @rootvalue well sorry but i thoght it wasnt cuz the fire looked fake but guess i was rong

  • @amzrox2341 I don't hold it against you, I'm just bummed that you think this video is boring. Around 2:40 it gets really beautiful, and I hope that alone would get peoples' thumbs up, but it looks like I've got some poor ratings. Have you watched through the whole video?

What do you think the video could use, in case I repeat the act and burn another 1000 (which are all ready and folded) in HD?

  • @amzrox2341 I'm not exactly sure what a 'complent' is, but I'm guessing you mean 'compliment.' So you were insulting the video? I'm sorry you lack an attention span; it seems to be a common trait among people your age. Hopefully one day you will appreciate this form of art. Take care.

  • @amzrox2341 Aww, thanks for watching!

  • I gotta say, I really liked what you did here. I, myself, usually burn, trash, rip, or otherwise destroy most of my origami creations. I never imagined something of this scale though! I had fun watching it. Thank you.

BTW, I have given cranes to children before :D

  • there are 1000? when i counted there was 1001...
