Where were you the day Elvis died?
Alan was headlining at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas .
While impersonator has become synonymous with the phrase Elvis Tribute Artist, this was done without the ethical standards as set forth by the entertainment industry where stealing another entertainers show name lacked morality. You could no more use the same rational and bill your show as The Rolling Stone and not considerate it as Not Stealing stealing the Rolling Stones show name, Alan's show was publicized and billed as Alan A Tribute To Elvis.
Alan is quite simply the Tribute to Elvis. He is The Original tribute to Elvis. and finally he is The Only Tribute to Elvis.
The las Vegas portions of this video were performed by Alan with Elvis Presley's expressed written permission and were recored for TV before any Elvis impersonator had ever been permitted to perform in a Las Vegas Strip hotel. To this day Alan is the only performer ever granted permission by Elvis to perform a tribute to Elvis. Alan The Original Tribute to Elvis.
Another way to say it, Alan is The Original Elvis Tribute
It's about time you set the record straight. I can personally vouch for that fact. You were performing your tribute to Elvis in Las Vegas years before Elvis died and on the day Elvis died.
I recall seeing your show two weeks before Elvis died and you were the only performer doing an Elvis show in Las Vegas and the Fountain Theater was packed! It's such a shame you had to leave Las Vegas because it was only after you had left that all those impersonators (Apes) came to Las Vegas.
