im not sure but its a lot of walking! farmers back then were tough and built up alot of strength ,also motivated to eat and feed family! had no other choice! we should be thankful for farmers nd what tey put up with
I hope that I can learn how to plough with my belgains. I purchased a belgain in January and just purchased a second from the same place. They get along great and make a good team. My oldest is 8 and the one I just purchased is 2. The oldest is broke to logging driving single and double. My youngest is green broke to drive double.
things are always better when a horse is involved

I wish the world would go back to the horse. Sure it was hard work but, the benefits to both man and beast was better.
