For me, the biggest misconception over the years has been that transsexuals are all either six foot girls with a five o'clock shadow or drag queens. Simply put, they're all freaks. If I had realized how wrong that was years ago, I would probably be happy now as the woman I should be instead of just starting to realize that I am a woman inside.

Hi, I'm Branden and as a Transgender myself ,you are completely correct that one of the biggest misconceptions are once either it be your family,friends or whoever finds out that you are a Transsexual or Transgendered, they immediately write you off as a straight or heterolsexual person. And although I am a Straight Trans Guy myself, I think another misconception is where once you tell them they identify you to themselves as either a man/woman of 'Cross Dressering'. -Branden

Odd,.. i have seen pretty much all of your videos but ive never seen this one.

The biggest misconception for me is the one you mentioned in the video, that all transsexuals are into men... the reason why is coz thats the biggest reason why it took me so long to find out what has been going on inside of me all my life, and why i dismissed the idea of me being transsexual. I still wish every day that i never had gotten stuck with getting to know myself coz of that misconeception.

I think your insights are awesome! I agree that the first reponse is (in our case) is that we want to be with men. In theory that would mean we are gay and if that were the case I guess life might be easier or simplier in a manner of speaking,LOL

Of course that would not be the case.

anyway biggest misconceptions?

(1) that transitioning = having "a sex change operation." So wrong on so many levels.

(2) that all trans people have the same narrative of "I've known since I was three that I was in the wrong body, plus I've always liked the activities stereotypically associated with my chosen gender." Also entirely false.
