  • @Xadoke I'm happy you enjoyed it - thanks a bunch for watching! :-)

  • What's the average life of the butterfly and how much of its life is used pre butterfly state?

  • @Cowman715 Most butterfly eggs hatch in 8-15 days, and it takes 4-5 weeks to go through the caterpillar phase of their life. However, some species diapause (hibernate) part-way through the egg and caterpillar phases for up to a year. The adult butterlies can live for a couple of months if they are VERY lucky, but most don't last more than a week or two at best. =) Cheers!

  • cutee.

  • Wow thanks for the information that's awesome :-)

  • @Sophia2468ful I usually collect the species I work with from wilderness areas near me, but in this case these butterflies were sent to me be a friend. Most are pretty easy to raise so you should be able to do it yourself if you can find them :-)

  • Wow that's a long time wow it's just so cool to see them I wish I could do that and how do you get them

  • @Sophia2468ful Yes, I raised these myself... This project took about 2 years, and I raised several generations of them :-) Thanks a bunch for watching! =)
