Girls Explain "Lust for Life" and its gay porn video

San Francisco indie band Girls put out "Lust for Life " earlier this year, which garnered as much attention for its sunny melodies and whistful lyrics as it did for having a guy singing about wanting a boyfriend. The band recently put out an X rated version of the video, which features copious nudity and guys in bed. Zack from The New Gay caught up with the band to figure out "why all the gay stuff?"

In 2009 - here & elsewhere - there was an explicit, alternate-edit of the official "Lust For Life" video. Scenes included, not only closeups of full-frontal male nudity, but also, brief footage featured lengthy, tumescent genitalia - as same were brandished playfully by a fellow who sang into the erection as though it were a turgid microphone. Ephemeral & equivocal, this risqué clip is possibly scarce by design; its transitory nature will likely militate an evolution toward legendary status.
