The Asaba Airport in Nigeria's Delta State will become fully operational before the year runs out. The passenger and cargo airport will include a 3km runway, a 49,500m² apron, a 2km taxiway and a 3,600m² terminal building all at a cost of about $50 Million. Equipment for the tower is already being tested as an aircraft landed safely here few days ago.

  • is this are you calling International airport? Nonsense, shame on Nigeria leaders, do they go to other people's country and see what International airport is, God kill all Nigeria Leaders in Jesus name Amen

  • This is a great forward looking project. Congratulations to the Delta Sate government. This government will be remembered for generations to come for having the foresight to build the beautiful airport.. I can't wait to fly into Asaba all the way from my home in California, USA.

  • Tip: dredge the Niger and then build a commercially viable port in Onitsha. Stop building commercially unviable airports in every state with only 90mins b\w them.,..pointless.

BTW: Stop calling every airport in the South "International", with the Exception of MMA & Nnamdi Azikiwe airports, that slogan is useless in Nigeria.

  • Dude, the airport costs about $270 million dollars. Just under N40 billion naira. That is still a lot of money considering the level of infrastructure so far provided. But this is Nigeria where a project that costs $10 million dollars in India,China America or Australia would cost $100 million dollars in Nigeria. Yet it would not be completed afterall. That is how corruption undevelops a country and makes an otherwise rich country poor.

  • For real $400m for that airport. I hope not. That would be a shame if oil money (taxpayers money) was used to build this.

  • Lies, lies, lies, lies and lies. Please stop the lies. First of all, this airport cost well over $400m but doesn't merit it at all. There's a limit to the number of people you can deceive. Why has the cost of the airport been severally reviewed? When exactly is the airport becoming operational? Considering the envisaged outstanding success of this airport, its a pity that you guys have chosen to play politics with a structure that'll tremendously benefit the state. SHAME ON YOU GUYS.

  • The airport was suposed to poen last year in May...
