Great and important story but it's ironic that a story about getting history wrong does just that. I could be wrong myself but I'm not aware of ANY Underground Railroad connection with Nova Scotia and at most a handful of African-Americans would have come here that way (instead the main destination was Southern Ontario). The black community here predates the UR by several decades and most Black Nova Scotians are the descendants of Loyalists who came here in the early 1780s.

Canada is "supposed" to be a Multi-Racial, Multi-Cultural country. You wouldn't know that be the lack of Aboriginal and Black visible minorities in hockey. There are more Black's in American sports than Canadian Blacks in sports like Lacrosse, Hockey, and Football in Canada. Canada looks more racist than the United States.
