'Bone pastor', by Thomas Tallis (1505-1585). The music is the same as his anthem 'If ye love me'. Animated score to accompany singing by the Auckland Catholic Music Schola ( http://www.schola.org.nz ).

Bone pastor, panis vere,
Jesu, nostri miserere:
Tu nos pasce, nos tuere:
Tu nos bona fac videre
in terra viventium.

Good shepherd, true bread,
Jesus, have mercy on us.
Tend us, care for us;
Make us see good things
in the land of the living.

  • Good support from the diaphragm. That makes the sound solid, and not weak and wimpy. This piece looks interesting, but it just doesn't sound solid or well practiced. But, keep trying.

  • Absolutely awful. Sorry!

  • oh my, not good

  • Trollin. You is doin it.

After listening to all of your videos I can't believe you're a serious choir... it takes skill to destroy Tallis this completely.

  • Here we go again, the choir of hell.

  • Wow... tune it up, folks

  • I remember singing this piece. It was our first polyphonic piece and you've done a decent job of it, too.

    Are these the original words?

  • I think that it is such a shame that people post such degrading comments on your performance. A couple of suggestions from m:e get an organist who can provide some soft accompaniment on 8' flues to ensure you end on the pitch you start at (you start this piece in E and end in E-flat). Ensure you stand up straight and sing with support from your diaphragm as this will also help with tuning. Standing in a slight semi-circle may help as well: you'll be able to hear each other then. Good Luck.
