A quick and awesome game on a really small map with 4 of us. This game was totally INSANE! Constant action, and amazingly fun. Featuring me, Wlverine, Swann and James. Me an Wlv developed a little rivalry as the game developed, constantly trading first place with one another. Let's just say, the better man won.

Nah, just kidding. Wlv won.

James songs in honour of James's new album and tour, which I went to, which was fantastic.

  • @EdDewd I'm pretty sure it's still the same. It's just the ships fly a lot faster in d3 + everyone has afterburners, so it's less effective. But I was never a great fan of D3 anyway

  • I would have use the term Tri-Chording but thought it needed explanation here. And I don't believe you can still do it in D3 like it was programmed D2. The ratio is way off.

  • @EdDewd It's called Tri-Chording. I do it literally 100% of the time in every Descent game, because it makes you 1.7X faster than moving in a straight line. And you can still do it in D3, it's just less effective cos everyone has a really fast charging afterburner, straight from spawn.

  • D3 ruined the control of the game. In D1 - D2 you could add speed to your ship by using the X, Y, & Z axis control at the same time. For Example, If some dude was just moving forward using axis X, you could out run him flying by using axis X & Y. And the most advanced could run circles around you with all three axis controls being applied at the same time. In D3 they overlooked that. You could no longer overrun the guy using one button. Really lame.

  • @D313370r Yeah, IMO D1 / D2 are both a tonne better than D3's online, as D3 was significantly "dumbed down" from the first 2. Most of us Descenters nowadays as far as I know use Kali and D1 / D2X Rebirth, both of which can be found on google. Kali can be a bit fiddly to set up however, and finding games requires organisation with other people on Kali, and if you have any trouble with this, feel free to message me, I will be appy to help out a fellow Descenter :).

  • Wow, this looks better than D3 multiplayer. Ive played descent since it was new, but I have never had the chance to play D1 or D2 online, how do you find games? Ive herd of this "kali" thing but is that still what people use?
