La Mujer Inconforme (Los Folkloristas)

This is a typical Son Jarocho in the Decimas modality by the legendary Los Folkloristas.

Son Jorocho is the traditional style of Veracruz' central coast particularly around Port of Veracruz and Boca del Rio.

Decimas are a style of poetry that originated in Spain & adapted to the Mexican Son most commonly in Veracruz.

The song was composed in the late 19th century.


Lyrics:

Paisa dime si te agrada esta poesia tan jucosa,
De una mujer caprichosa que no le gustaba nada.
Dios con su gran poder me castigo a su manera,
Dandome por companero a una inconforme mujer.

No la puedo comprendero, es en todo caprichosa, Descontenta y muy celosa, ya no la puedo aguantar!,
Yo la quisiera cambiar por otra major esposa.


Recuerdo que el lunes es que fuimos a pasear,
me dijo me haz de comprar unos plumer de fraque,
Fui a la Arca de Noe a buscar lo que queria,
y cuando le pedi los calzones al tendero,
ella dijo no los quiero vamos a otra roperia.


La lleva a La Galeria por que se queria comprar,
medias de 10 pesos, par de buena clase, y no feas.
Comprendiendo sus ideas le pregunte con temor
si las queria de color de seda colorada.
Y me contesto enojada no me gusta ese color!




Para tender la contenta le traje de La Gran China,
una sombrilla muy fina que me cost $10.50
Le traje un collar de perlas para no ver la tan triste,
y me dijo te atreviste a hacer gasto, para nada
de lo que a China pedistes en vano no me agrada!

Y en la muebleria pidio una cama de tambor,
6 sillas un mesedor, ropero, espejo y buro.
Y cuando el mozo venia cumpliendo lo convenido,
Ella exclamo ahora que miro en vano mucho lo siento pues veo con descontento que no me agrada el pedido.


Quiso lucir su hermosura en una fotografia,
y escojio una gran postura para su fisonomia.
En el caprichio creia que de espaldas y al fotografo ensenando el fonografo le dijo de esta manera...
quiero ver si es que deveras pinta firme su estilografo!

Le compre una basinica que le sirve a cualquier persona, que no sea ni grande ni chica, que tenga buena corona. Pa gente grande y chica, no sin nalga ni nalgona.

Roma la ciudad que alegre en el amor se destaca,
Me presentaron al Papa. Por cierto que yo creia preguntarle si debia o no... que dijo de Xalapa?
Y lo dijo el santo Papa gritando con voz en cuello,
Chingue su madre Xalapa, solo Veracruz es bello.


Translation:

Countryman tell me if you like this most comical poem,
Of a fickle woman who was never pleased by anything.
God with great power punished me in his own way,
Giving me for a partner a disagreeable woman.

I can't understand her, she is capricious in all manners, unhappy and very jealous. I can't take her any more,
I would like to trade for another, better wife.


I remember it was Monday that we went for a stroll.

I went to "Noah's Ark" to find what she wanted, & when I asked the shopkeeper for the undies,
she said... I don't want them lets go to another clothing store.

I took here to the Galleria because she wanted to buy,
10 Peso panty hose, a high class pair that shouldn't be ugly.
Understanding her ideas y asked with certain fear, if she wanted the red silk pair. And she responded angrily... that color is not to my liking!

To keep her happy I brought from the "Great China", a very fine parasol that cost me $10.50.
I brought her a pearl necklass so that I wouldn't see her so sad, and she scolded.. you dared to spend money, good for nothing!
Those things your ordered from China in vain, they do not please me.

And at the furniture shop, she asked for a box mattress,
6 chairs, a Rocker, Wardrobe, Mirror & Dresser,
And when the Clerk was fulfilling the agreement,
She exclaimed I know see in vain, and my heartfelt apologies,

She wanted to show off her beauty in a photograph,

Solo oyendo a los Folkloristas ,grupo super chingon que tocan muchos instrumento musica que la puta television ha saboteado , me enorgullesco de mi gente de pueblo,la que hace la tradicion popular la que hace muchas cosa ,mucha musica ,como las balonas Michoacanas ,que los mismos Michoacanos NI CONOCEN,los sones jarochos ,los tamborileros de Tabasco,la verdadera musica nuestra ,no la mierda de la radio y tv.
