Romantic fox trot from 1929 recorded by Warings Pennsylvanians, with vocal by the leader, Fred Waring.

Victor 21881-A rec. 1-31-1929
just two weeks after the closing of their collegiate musical, "Hello Yourself" on Broadway, which ran 87 performances from Oct.30, 1928 - Jan. 12, 1929.

This one dedicated to Genia for her many kindnesses and support! Thankyou Genia!

This very rare Warings Pennsylvanians 78 was from the collection of Don Neely, leader of the famous Royal Society Jazz Orchestra of San Francisco. Enjoy.

  • A most entertaining, imaginative and amusing upload! Unfortunately this version was not issued in the U.K. so this is the first time I've heard it. Usually think of his band as

"collegiate" style music. Never heard his band sound so sophisticated and excellent vocal too.

    A first rate upload.

  • @jackpaynefan Thank you for your valued comment. Waring was indeed collegiate in his fan base and music. He also was entertaining big symphonic dance ideas like Whiteman in 1929 and this is one gem of his efforts! Glad you like it !
