I think you have to mod in a diplomat to successfully provoke war with the elves. I'm not that well-versed in the art of elf-taunting myself, but the Bay 12 forums could tell you how to do it.

I would like to suggest a few things for the future DFLP/s 1st reading the FPS boost page on DF wiki, possibly you will find something that will help/give a little boost in yer fps, also limiting your dwarf pop to 100 if you haven't done so already. 2nd Genesis mod it adds a lot more civs enemies and FUN stuff in general might be something to try before DF2012 it also has tileset support and dwarf therapist support!

@TheFubz Don't turn off refuse collecting, leaving dead bodies inside the fortress.

For the elves I like to build a special trade depot inside the fortress - with extra walls made out of wood - then once the caravan is in, I remove the trade depot, take the stuff, put a few monkeys in there, leave a few tombs and wall the place - with a wall made out of oak preferably - leaving one tile for a window, then I place statues on either side of that!

btw this series is becomming a what not to do set of examples :P 1) dont mess with aquifiers, 2) prepare for hard biomes appropriately (and lay more cage traps :P) 3) dont build bridges near lava that arent magma safe.

I think you turned off body reclaimation in an old video and never turned it back on so now theres tons of bodies everywhere and miasma that isnt helping the situation!
