Nearly a decade after his widely quoted remarks about the gay issue in Singapore in a 1998 CNN interview, former PM Lee Kuan Yew again commented on the issue over the weekend -- this time acknowledging that homosexuality might be genetically determined and questioned the city-state's ban on sex between men.

  • Because I learnt history, you ignorant bitch

  • What people do with their private lives is no one else's business but their own. Be gay, hetero or whatever. Just let them get on with their life. Fuck's sake! I don't give a fuck what religion you are.

  • totally agree with this old man

  • The youths from Singapore deserves a fair and hopeful future with a government that values everyone equally.

  • Going through with SG governemnt is a pain in our pockets BUT without these strict rules we won't be able to sit at comfortable place critizise government. right?! US governement is a failure to bring the superpower into this stage. Their citizen are spoil for choices turn the natural course upside down. Stop the gay marriage nosense at all cost!!! You can be gay but don't influence others to follow.

  • RACISTS FUCKER THAT IS ANTI MUSLIM !

  • When the majority becomes the minority, and social unrest will not be such an issue to the matter, then equal rights for homosexuality will be granted. It's just a matter of time.

  • I don't think he has any issue against homosexuals. He clearly says that there is no reason to criminalise them. However he has repeatedly expressed that one of the key factors for a stable country is social peace (racial and religious cohesion). Thus he feels that legalising homosexual marriages and extended rights will cause a social outrage because (as of the present) the majority of the community are against homosexuals. In the future, the majority will become the minority.

  • I am new to Singapore but I find that that usually the older people are very ignorant and diseptive but the younger people are the completly different I think in around 10-20 years Singapore will have a good leader that will do things like legalize marijuana for medical purposes and legalize gay marriage.

  • Dear Mr Lee Kuan Yew, please please please do support other people sexuality and treat them as the same as human beings. no matter if we are gay/lesbian/bisex/straight, we are stilll human being and not animal!

  • this government is a failure.
