Not true. Many of the "toy" breeds make excellent apartment dogs, as do several low energy large breeds. Sadly, this does not include pit bulls, which would likely go insane if confined to an apartment for most of the day. As always, every dog needs to be walked, not just let out to do its business, but that's true whether you live in an apartment or on a 20 acre farm.
