the difference between the primary lobe and secondary lobe on the camshaft is much greater on oem b16 camshafts in comparison to b18 camshafts

i have noticed that the b16 vtec cums on cam a lot better than the b18c dose anyone have an answer y because i have a b18c4 and i can hardly hear the vtec kick in.
