  • A unique experience! Some of the music verging on the unrecognisable, yet with such powerful understanding of what he intends to achieve,(without always succeeding!),that the listener can be convinced. This would be an ideal conception of this unreachable, unattainable monster, but......!

The reflective passages reveal total affinity with Skriabin's expression. The excellent choice of images add to the fascination of this video.

  • beautiful selection of images

  • Very impressive intonation of the inner voices in the rubato passages.

  • What a maestro!

  • Given the time, the place and the circumstances (Germany/1947/broadcast) this is very inspired and full of personality, some things often heavilly missed today.

  • inspired playing....!

  • E-c-s-t-a-t-i-c!

  • so inusual pictures..for a zen pianist...zen and the art of piano playing...no performer at all, only music...

  • great idea!!!!!!!hypnotic.......some wrong notes but Gieseking is very inspired......thanks a lot for all!
