i pressed like before ive watched this, and i dont know you from earlier videos.
but if someone play such a great song by only classical acoustic guitar and fingerstyle, that must be someone who has the music in his love.

picture this,Im from Liverpool, I sit at my computer and listen to this with my headfones on,half drunk harmonising at the top of my voice, carried away to a time long gone...completely sublime,I dont think you can comprehend the effect of your talent

That was fantastic!! I get so jealous when I see talent like this.

So lovely! Thank you for sharing... I wish I could listen to this on a loop!

I found this song two years ago and still get the same great feelings from it! Great arrangement! FrostyMorn is the man!

I am curious if you ever use picks in your banjo playing? If so, would the Alaska Piks work?
-
Great job!!!
That was beautiful! =] I'm currently trying to teach myself fingerstyle guitar.. I hope one day I can play as well as you do! =P
I also noticed that you used fingerpicks. I was thinking of getting some, but when I tried them at the music store, I couldn't do anything with them on. =/ I was just wondering how long did it take you to get used to them?

Thanks for the kinds words, glad you like the arrangement!
The picks are use are called Alaska Piks, they are made from nylon/plastic and are quite different from the usual metal fingerpicks. I have been using them on steel strings since the mid 1990s, I think. Steel strings would destroy my bare fingernails and metal picks (I have tried them all) do not offer enough tactile feedback.
Good luck with your picking!

@wolfeje I do not use picks when I play the banjo. They might work for up-picking styles like bluegrass, but for the antebellum clawhammer down-picking style I don't think so. In clawhammer style you strike the string with the fingernail and I think that action would simply pull the Alaska Pik off my finger.

Is that a late 40's Gibson LG-1 with ladder-bracing? Sounds amazing!

1958 Gibson LG-2. X-braced. Yes - a fine guitar!
