There are only six little puppets in the back seat along with a very familiar looking "Fred". Recorded at the Little Theater in New York City on January 16, 1960.

  • @Maffy234

    Glad you liked!

  • As I remember it- there were only three girls who actually recorded the song. They appeared with Perry Como doing this song on his show in the Fall of 1959

  • @ishky94

Pretty good memory! But I actually did have the single. I recorded the tune as Paul Evans and the Curls. The Curls, Sue Singleton and Sue Terry, were part of the great TV choral, the Ray Charles Singers (No, no, not THAT Ray Charles).

The Avons covered the song in England and had a hit with it there.

I hope that stirred the memory cells. :-)

    Paul Evans

  • I remember singing this as a kid, loved it. Still do. LOL

  • I remember having this on cassette when I was a kid. Maybe about 3-4... I'm still only 22 now :)

  • I just picked up this single by Eddie Moses, The Tunettes, The Toppers with instrumental accompaniment by The Band-Its - I wonder when this was released? Any clues?

    Thanks for sharing.

  • @cd1mp3 Ha ha Paul, you sure got 'em there ! At age 73 your "sense of humor" cells are still sparklin'.

  • awesome memories:)

  • I loved loved this song when I was little.....

  • Written by Bob Hilliard, who has been dead for 40 years, and Lee Pockriss, who passed away on November 14, aged 87. He had also written "Johnny Angel" for Shelley Fabares and "Itsy Witsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" for Brian Hyland. I hope he's got a few bikini-clad angels in his back seat now!
