Last summer, National Geographic videographer Zak Wenning headed out into the field on our student expedition to Peru. During their three-week adventure, the students hiked up a Andean peak at dawn to watch the sun rise on Machu Picchu. They explored Inca ruins with National Geographic expert Peter Frost, tried their hand at traditional Peruvian weaving, and volunteered at a local orphanage. "It was amazing to get such a local and intimate taste of Peruvian culture," commented one student. Enjoy a taste of our National Geographic Student Expedition to Peru in this short video.
I wish I could do one of these trips so bad!

I went on the National Geographic Student Expedition trip to Peru the summer before, which was the first group ever brought down to Peru. I can honestly say that it was one of the best experiences of my life and I will remember everything that I did and everyone that I met in those three weeks for the rest of my life.
