Glen Campbell ~ GENTLE ON MY MIND ~ (John Hartford)
Talk about a number one hit, and the most posted song on YouTube, and my #1 "guilty pleasure" song. Glen Campbell as he looks today. Loss some of his hair, but always a kind soul! Credit must be given to talented John Hartford who wrote the song, but passed away much too young. Digitally transfered this song from a 45 rpm. In the store flipping through 45rpms were just as much fun as buying a whole album. We could sift through huge bins of 45s looking for current hit songs, and they were always well-stocked, more than enough current hits avaliable, and very good oldies, too. Loads of fun! About the song. This is relatively a very old song, early 70s?, but it has stood the test of time. It`s a pop song that has never become passe or popular to only one generation. Therefore it`s a classic.
fuckin' the BEST .. saw him on grammy's last night! magical!

Great commentary on this tune. also about shopping for 45's. It's sad my kids can't know the fun of hanging out with your friends at Sam Goody's buying records. It's a lost time. At least we have these fantastic tunes and performances.
