@SwiftRyder2 If you live near water get a Newfie. A Newfie without water to swim is tough on dog. We had Newfie/Shep mix. If I did not experience his love, smarts and devotion I would think it was not true. He was runt of 17 pups. He had Newfie paws, tail, demeaner. Seem him dive 15 feet deep in water. We live near school. He would break up fights always siding with kid getting bullied. Ultimate baby sitter. The list goes on.......

How does the Pyr do with water? I live in Newfoundland and the dogs are always dipping in the ocean, which is probably why we bred them to be swimmers :)

I don't know about all Pyr, but mine hates water :) He hates to get dirty, he hates rain, he hates to swim. Pyr are opposite to Newfie's. Pyr loves only snow.

Why not teach that Newf some manners-obviously bugging the Pyr-the Pyr is NOt as dominant a player as that newf is-shame on you.

Maybe it looks diffrent, but in this herd Pyr is dominant dog, and Newfie is under him. Pyr just allowing to play with him. If it would be to much for Pyr he will just shows his teeth. They are friends, and those are normal dogs relations. Have You ever seen dogs playin?
