Youmu Konpaku Voice Sample

My Youmu audition to a Touhou Fantasy Kaleidoscope English Fandub project, held by ApparentlyG33.

So what do you think about my audition?
Personally, I don't think my voice was high enough for the typical headcanon Youmu voice, but I tried my best making it sound different to my Sakuya voice for the other Touhou Fantasy Kaleidoscope fandub project I auditioned for, held by DeadPrincessScarlet (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPoh_9uC3m8). I hope that there is a difference, at least...

Funny how both Sakuya and Youmu have mistresses to serve for, use bladed weapons, and helped their mistress out on their goals soon to be stopped by the heroine. Also, they're both Stage 5 bosses. Hahaha.

Sorry about my change in decision on who I auditioned for. I originally said I would auditioned as Marisa, but I wasn't able to pull off a Marisa-like voice.

But anyway, I would appreciate it if you give your thoughts and criticism below in the comments section. I don't mind criticism, as I would like to improve my Youmu voice! ^^

Sorry, you need to inflect a little more (maybe is the micrphone) and I think Youmu would sound a little more childish.

@Eurobeatjam That's what I thought too. I wasn't too sure of how to portray Youmu. I had to use the Japanese fan-dub as a basis of how I would voice act. I have to admit, it's difficult to give a voice to a character who has none to begin with, and people might not agree with the voice you gave the character. That's what I fear when I audition for Touhou anime fandub projects.

Can I ask what you meant by "inflect a little more"? I'm sure knowing more would help me in the future.

@PokeNaruBleach Also, you might want to put a bit more emotion in your lines, such as sounding barely-conscious in that last scene.

@Noxshade I'm still learning of how to place emotion into when I'm "acting". It's not easy to do it at first, but I'm sure I'll get better at doing so someday! Thank you for your honest opinion!
