  • It's generally in Pitney's style...

  • YES! I thought it was Pitney singing with Melson. Then TopshelfTom brought it to my attention it was Dan Folger, does sound just like him though.

  • The 2nd voice on this record was Dan Folger, who was one of Joe's closest friends, and someone Joe co-wrote many tunes with. It was not Gene Pitney.

  • WOW! I just checked the record and Melson & Folger did write it. The flip side is the same without the green marker. I have many D. Folger 45s but never connected the voice.

  • Gene Pitney is singing harmany on this one. WOW

  • It does sound like him, no doubt about it, I won't argue with that one! I'll have to research it. Also see what you can find?

  • I finally aquired a copy of this 45, and i've found that the actual speed is about 3% slower than what you've got it posted at. Either way it still doesn't sound like it comes from July 1965 but that is when the 45 was mastered....

  • Wow, now that you mentioned it, it does sound like Gene..............I never knew.
