  • I don't think these are fake. There is no evidence that there are fake SA5000 anywhere.

  • These are Sony's best currently. They were designed for SACD use.

  • I planned on getting the Grado GS1000i soon. Stay tuned!

  • All metal and made in Japan? I didn't even know such headphones existed -_-

    How much? $700+?

  • @NicolXIX It lists for $699. I paid $198, new. It was a deal I could not pass. It's back to normal Amazon street price now.

  • I don't have decent lighting around the table. I need to spend some money on some lights.

hd800 stock can be very bright sounding since they have a elevated top-end. there is a simple mod to tame the top-end bit but still not neutral in frequency response. thing though hd800 has loads of low-level detail though what the other flagship models in same price range don't have. there only fault is the brightness issue. the audeze lcd 2 and lcd3 are dark sound with very shelved midrange and treble response to be considered neutral.

  • How do these compare with K701 and HD650? Better, worse? I know soundstage is great on these, but how is the bass, since usually headphones with great soundstage have weak bass.

  • @DIRENGREY097 What do you mean? Headphones you mentioned, especially HD800 are extremely natural and accurate.

  • @IamPinhead

the HD800 and Audeze LCD-2 and LCD-3 are far from being considered accurate headphones and would never suggest them for live field recording or monitoring. they'll only be good for playback use in my opinion. good for the audiophile world maybe, but professional use? no.

  • Does anyone know if you can get headphones (that have padding) with detachable ear speakers?

  • Let's see what is inside....god damn it....!

  • Hey DJAmtrax, just came across your vid and believe these are fake SA5000s or at the very least some cheaper version of them. SA5k earpads are taught and soft, you mentioned they're hard and they look like plastic?

  • @hifiguy528

How do you afford all of this stuff? You must make 6 figures...

  • is that real leather or like the pleather type material used on the MDR-V6/7506???
