At a protest in 2010, some punk knocked a cops hat off, and the cop hit him in the head with his baton. 12 times. He now has permanent brain damage. Even after he was unconscious on the ground, bleeding profusely from his head, he continued hitting him with his baton. The cop was then given paid leave (aka paid vacation) and later returned to serving justice.
