Video/Animation Edit Of: Return To The Garden - (A Remix Of) The Sun Is Down - Originally By YOPOB - Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band - Their new album of songs is called: "Between My Head And The Sky"

Title: Return To The Garden

(I had about 20 song names for this, and made this one up about an hour before I sent it in.)

Thanks to the people involved in the entire project. It was both a learning experience and fun project to do. I know I could have probably done a bit better on the song remix, but it's still reasonable enough to enjoy. Maby "over processing" it would have ruined it completely.

Lyrics
------------------------------------------------------

What Is Stars?
Or The Moon?
The Stars Should Shine The River

It's Time For Me To,
Go On A Walk
It Makes Me Laugh

And When I'm Alone,
I Like To Walk
Caressed By The Wind
And Nobody Else, Ya
Does That Matter?, I Like it!

It's Time For Me To,
Go On A Walk
That Mirror, Oh That Mirror!
I'm Throwing Away The Mirror, In The River
I Don't Need It,
I Can Walk Without It

The Sun Is Down In The Secret Garden

The Sun Is Down!
The Sun Is Down!
The Sun Is Down, It's Getting So Dark.

Special thanks/credit go to the people who let me have an audio sample.

I notice a slight "blip" at the beginning of the uploaded video on YouTube, and that is not on the actuall song though or as audible - the movie program sort of enhanced that I guess.

As far as I can understand, even though this is a remix of a current song by Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band, that we could rename our mix to something different, or to as maby an extension of it.

The sound of the thunder was recorded using a cheap MP3 player/recorder during a thunder storm in the area, and recorded right from the back door area.

This song is for a remix/project/contest of the YOPOB. As far as I can tell, it's in stereo effect on YouTube.

UPDATE: JAN 2010 : They picked 20 mixes, this mix here did not place, but I guess it was hard to pick the winners, especially with all the mixes being sent in - over 200 mixes. My mix isn't too bad, being I had to do it all by "hand" - I didn't use any kind of multi-track editing/mixing software, so it has a bit more of an analog "tape recording" feel to it maby, however, it makes editing, or should I say re-editing, very, very difficult, to the point that it is necessary to have that kind of equipment/software when using more than perhaps only a few samples/tracks.

You can listen to the 20 mixes on the project website http://www.yopob.com/mixes.html , and here are some YouTube videos made for some of the song entry mixes: http://www.youtube.com/user/yokoonopob

I also did the animation, it sort of worked out with the music, but when I made the song I really didnt even think about what the visual/movie video could be. I had to invent something reasonable to make the video, and I can barely draw so what you see is basically one image or "painting" being put together.

I want to give anyone permission to download this song for non-comercial use as long as there isn't any legalities for me worry about - credit, as for the audio samples, goes to Yoko Ono, and the Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band, and all thoses involved in the project including the audio samples I used. As far as I know, this music/remix project was to be shared with people.

  • I guess you can call it a "J Mix", "JAMix" production.
