I don't know. In my view Melrose Place never officially jumped the shark, it just O.D.ed on drama (hence the psychotic 4th season, with Kimberly having multiple personally disorder and Jane and Sydney killing Richard only for him to rise from the grave). I think after the fourth season the show simply burned out they had practically done everything that was possible except evil twins and aliens.

Season 1 finale ender! Not what I'd write if I were writing the season 1 finale to Melrose. I would have centered it around Alison/Billy/Keith more.
