This is on the east side of Lewistown at the nursing home along MO hwy. 16, just off MO hwy. 6. This road doesn't offer much of a shoulder, so I pulled over here. Unfortunately, the building is blocking my view, but by looking at the clouds, I can tell I'm looking in the direction of where a tornado might be. After shooting this, I went east, but when I saw the radar was showing the storm moving ESE, it looked like the storm might cross hwy. 16 between Monticello and Canton, so I turned around to get myself out of harms way. As I went back, I passed professional chaser going east on 16 with their instruments on top of their vehicles. I wonder if Reed Timmer and his guys were on this storm or not...rumor was he was. Turns out going back was a bad move, as the storm put down another tornado 5 miles northwest of Canton, meaning the storm never crossed 16...damn! That pretty much put an end to the chase as the storm crossed the Mississippi River into northern Adams County, IL and eventually weakened. But this supercell left havoc in its wake across northeast Missouri all along the hwy. 6 corridor.
