Hey sorry it took so long to get back at ya
that is the down side of the redrock m2
"upside down images" you can fix this by using an external monitor and mounting it to your hot shoe mount and depending on the lens and the fstop of the lens gives veriable amounts of dof i use mainly a 50mm at f1.4 and have the actor deliver lines within 10 ft of camera or a 135mm at f2.8 and about 10-20 feet both of these were used in this sequence

whoops thanks

Thanks We were fortunate to have a sunny day.
we just used natural light in the alley shots
and over head floods and key lighting for the indoor shots you can actually see some of the lighting in the basement shot where the guy gets punched

Could you go into some of the lighting setups you used for the interior shots? BTW, the footage looks beautiful.

Hey Thanks
I use lots of lenses but for this sequence i used a 135mm @ f2.8 and a 50mm @ f1.4 nikon. You need a lot of light for an m2 you loose a whole stop of light when using one. Out doors is pretty easy to shoot but indoors is real tricky
God Bless

Hey
well the intirior shots we used a boom. the car shots the mic was in the car. (the adr or post audio and sound design is not done yet) this is just a peek at a rough cut to show some friends the progress in the film.
Wauu great Work impressive!!! I have been shooting short docs and full length docs but never a film with the Dvx100b.In the passed I owned 150 and 170 but never would I believe that the 100 was able to deliver such quality. Just when I was going to sell my 100 I see this sample.... U have defiantly changed my mind,,, awesome work.... What settings did you use for shutting on the 100.. shutter speed, 24p or 30/60? Letterbox?

@mischievousfilms well the redrock m2 and nikon lenses made all the difference. And you have to have actors that have the vision u have. ya the dvx100b is an awesome camera. To be honest i have moved to the hvx200a also a Canon 7d with an adapter so i can use my nikon lenses here are a couple clips from a new project im workin on with those 2 cameras.

more great video! This makes me confident in still going with the dvx100b with a redrock. And it's cool that you're willing to be so helpful with people.
Whats the status on this movie? It'd be great to see in it's entirety.

Hey Thanks this was shot last summer i think it was the first thing we shot for the film. Parts of this scene will be recut. The part when the guy gets punched towards the end will reshot i messed up on the white balance so the color correction is way off. Learning curve!! film should be done by summer of 2010
