You may not have heard of Rabia Z yet, but that is about to change. Meet Dubai Fahion Week's "Emerging Talent Winner" and the winner of the British Council's "Young Entrepreneur of the Gulf" award. This young woman has burst onto the fashion stage and she is aiming high. What makes her unique is that she is designing for the modern Muslim woman, and she isn't including burkas in her Fall line. She is taking traditional Muslim fashion and making it fun, fabulous, and "modern."

  • She is trying to show that you can still be beautiful and feel beautiful, but still be covered up and not feel like you are disobeying your religion.

I may not agree with having to cover everything up for religion, but I find she is still beautiful covered up. She does not need to show her tits and bust out her booty to feel beautiful.

And I find a very beautiful thing!

  • The world would be better without religion.

  • yes it is prison for us

  • @Ranact some people actually care where their going when they die!!

you really hate life dont you?

  • @ruqi92

that's the reason women choose to cover themselves. its a conscious CHOICE to define themselves by their intelligence and actions instead of their physical looks.

  • @nobodyisname do you really think that by putting on a bikini or a g-string or even going commando you're asserting your "independance"? don't be so naive. maybe you think you're being "free" and "independent", but the men ogling you couldn't care less. to them, you're probably just a piece of flesh. it's unfortunate, but that's the way people think these days.

  • @ruqi92 When are we going to accept the human form for what it is? Why is a woman always defined only in sexual relation to men - man's wife, sex object, mother, housewife - and never as persons defining themselves by their own actions in society?

  • @ruqi92 i could but i don't want to. Just like these women should be able to choose what to wear. Freedom for all!

  • @nobodyisname contrary to popular belief, "hijab" and modesty isn't only for women...men are commanded to lower their gaze and guard their modesty as well

  • @nobodyisname they started wearing it upon the command of god. islam gives dignity and respect back to the woman, whose bodies are not sexualized so they can become objects of sight for men, or to sell products. when muslim women wear the hijab, they are telling you that their physical appearance does not matter as much as their intellect, and what they have to say.

  • @darkknight302 why don't you lock yourself up?

  • @wcdjmase

you're so damn ignorant...no she won't be stoned or lashed. there is no compulsion in religion...however, like any smart woman she realizes her body has VALUE and DIGNITY and would rather not sexualize and objectify herself to sell products. do your homework.
