This was the first game that actually let you take severe damage and limp back to base. It was very realistic in that sense. It added to the desperation to keep your chopper under control.

Yep and today I have an I-7 with 4 x 2.6GHZ and 6 GB RAM and a 4870X2 with 2 GB DDR and 1 Terra Harddisk. If I compare the LHX with Flight Simulator X full details, what a difference.

You had it good, I had only 8086 at 4 MHz and it was slow and CGA graphics only.

Nice memories. When this game came out we (me and my big brother) had a 2-86 with 14 MHZ and 20 MB harddisk.
