  • FANTASTIC slide show of 'Skydog'.....great job, Man!

  • @peasblossom1973

    Thanks!

  • I'm pretty-sure that's not Duane singing. This is from his Muscle Schoals session-work days. I can't remember who's album he was playing on here, but it would say on the "Anthology" album cover.

  • @gangtwanger

The details in the video description have come from the album cover. According to Randy Poe's book on Duane Allman (Skydog) this song was originally recorded for Duane Allman's unfinished solo album.

  • The one the only Brother Duane Allman....always loved this song, thanks for posting ;))

  • My pleasure!

  • If I'm on a desert island, An Anthology & An Anthology V. 2 are the first two albums I'm picking. Just great music. mrkerrymayo

  • @gangtwanger It is, and one of the few cuts on which he did. "Dimples" from Ludlow Garage w/ A.B.B. & "Goin' Down Slow" (also released on the "Dreams" boxed set) are other notable examples. I would have loved to have heard a finished Skydog solo album, but thankfully it all turned into A.B.B. ;)

  • two les paul's heavy bastards

  • BEST song ever!!!

  • that will eat up the rowed.... an dats all she rote. UliJones, thanks dude. greatest cut ever of this classic berry number. turn the crank frank

  • 33 large on the views, and zippety-do-da on the negative side!

    hahahahahhahahaha

  • super nasty

  • FANTASTIC!!!

  • @1blastman such the right comparison to Clapton...really had to work on his voice..weak thin Brit that he is. It's like you're not going to get the entire package. Can you imagine if Robin Trower could play like that AND sing like James Dewar. That ain't fair. But then there are those...Stevie Ray, Rory Gallagher, Terry Reid.....just so much great music

  • Butch Trucks is actually Dereks uncle
