Gradius III is owned by Konami, 1991
Warning: some nasty language!

Does this big sequel to the legendary arcade hit live up to the standard or does the annoying slowdown kill it?

  • Pffft... This game is not that hard... The arcade version is much MUCH MUUUUCH harder than this.

  • @Quartrez Totally agree, I played that version on the PSP Gradius Collection and it was just insane.

  • I just got this game for 4 bucks...but man the snes has shitty sprite processing.

  • @123doomdoom Yeah, I wish the flickering wasn't so bad but the awesome game play saves it at least for me.

  • well iggyhazard you should try ikaruga even harder then star soldier

  • Few games are harder then Ikaruga, eh?

  • @videogames101com I understand. But you can't really expect much more from it, because its very close conversion of the arcade game. So everything from the arcade was replicated in this Pc engine port.

  • @123doomdoom Well, that was my Turbo Duo review and I actually rated Gradius II on the Famicom a lot higher. Maybe I just expecting too much from the Super CD version.

  • Saw ur text review of gradius 2,and u said that its inferior to Gradius3 in terms of Gameplay.I disagree.1rtly,G3 supports lots of slowdown, and that alone hurts it.Also,G2 came before G3,so for me,G3 feels like a lazy rehash of G2 with several reused levels and bosses. Also,I find the level design in gradius II to be much more interesting.I still like G3.But giving G2 65% rating seemed a little harsh to me.anyways.....
