20th Century Fox Home Entertainment Presents: An Exclusive Interview with George Lucas - Part 3 of 3.

In this three part interview with movie critic Leonard Maltin, George Lucas gives insight into the creation of the original trilogy. These interviews were on the last VHS release of the original Star Wars trilogy (pre-Special Edition) and have never been officially re-released.

In Part 3, Lucas discusses Return of the Jedi and the creation of the Ewoks and Jabba the Hutt. He also talks about the back story for the original trilogy becoming the basis of the prequel trilogy.

  • Had Lucas been shot by a sniper after leaving this interview...he'd be Kurt Cobain or James Dean right now.

  • EXCELLENT INTERVIEW, SAW THIS ON THE VHS STAR WARS VIDEOS!!!!!!!

  • if you pay attention the starwars movies are all ideas that are just tweaked from other stories it's kinda brilliant....I've heard ep 4 referred to as a western in space and that's a good description.......

  • I remember what it was like when these VHS tapes came out. Man ... anything seemed possible back then. Right before the shit hit the fan/s. :(

  • Now looking back....nobody could have known just how wrong it was all about to go.

  • The original Star Wars trilogy truly are timeless master pieces. Going back and watching these films is always a treat. The days before CGI and all that. These interviews are a window into Lucass mind at the time of filming.

  • @nickma71 LOL. Yeah Cobain "nearly ruined music," all that wonderful hair metal, MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, and Michael Jackson music. Please.

  • HAH! watch Leonard Maltin glance down at his script to remember "The Empire Strikes Back" at 0:23

  • @BassAle999 how did he fuck it up? they made a fucking fortune

  • why am i thinking Kenny Rogers?

  • he mentioned other directors would work on Eps 2 & 3... Too bad that didn't happen.
