The queen of Cincinnati area television in the 1950's and 1960's, Ruth Lyons, had the gift of perfect pitch, which helped her created some very fine pop and holiday tunes. Here The Lennon Sisters perform one of Ruth's finest, Let's Light the Christmas Tree. Ruth's songs were recorded by a wide variety of artists from The Lennon Sisters to Johnny Mathis to Bonnie Lou to Ruby Wright to Bob Braun on labels like King, Columbia, Brunswick, Fraternity, Decca and Ruth's own Candee label.

  • I love all the Ruth Lyons Christmas songs, but, why do the Lennon Sisters feel they have to swoop up to so many notes? I've loved the Lennons for as long as I can remember and don't remember them swooping up to notes before.. very strange sound for them...

  • We are so lucky to have the beautiful Lennon Sisters sing these wonderful Christmas songs.
