@conman206 Yes, they did, and the Ghetto Boys had worse messages. But rap wasn't all there was. Today, it dominates, and the groups are fighting to "out-filth" each other.
The so-called "beefs" between rappers, and the honor of getting shot, is the problem.

Rap sells based on sexism and materialism. But I don't remember it being like that 20 years ago. "Straight Out of Compton" sounds nothing like the "bitch and ho" lyrics I hear today.
