Darby Tillis, Illinois Death Row Exonerate, speaks at a protest & march against Chicago's Olympic bid.
Scores of black men from Chicago's south side were tortured by Police Commander Jon Burge, who ran a torture ring in area 2 & 3 for over decades. Dozens of torture victims languish in Illinois' prisons. Darby Tillis continues to demand new trials for police torture victims and to abolish the death penalty!

Richard M. Daley, now, the mayor of Chicago, was the Cook County State's Attorney and sought the death penalty against Darby Tillis. A Lake County Assistant State's Attorney, Michael Falconor, came forward to testify on Darby Tillis's behalf. The girlfriend of the real killer confessed to him that she was there when her boyfriend killed two men. State's Attorney, Daley called the Lake County State's Attorney to complain, "your guy is gonna put a hole in my case!" As Darby states, "He [Daley] would rather an innocent man die than open up the flawed death penalty!" The trial ended in Darby's acquittal and release. He was pardoned on the basis of innocence. The real killer and his girlfriend were never charged with the murders and to this day remain free.
