PIF, more or less, from the Independent Television Commission, the post-Broadcasting Act 1990 "regulatory body" for ITV during its increasingly Orwellian phase of gradual absorption into a gestalt entity.

This isn't about that. It's about how the adverts aren't allowed to lie outright.

Jesus Christ; this used to be on CONSTANTLY down my way when I was a kid; feels like yesterday. God. Mid-afternoon filler, most often. My rough guess is that this is from between 1999-2001 if I remember right.

I never got on with this woman's voice, or how unwieldy the endline phrase is. Still a charming crumb of childhood pie, though, so thank you.

Applemask - The earliest I can recall seeing this was in 1993. It used to be shown alot during the sunday morning output of GMTV.

Just like the "I bet he drinks Carling Black Label" meme, they don't make 'em like they used to.

"We're here to ITC you aren't mislead". I believe that by 2000, this was changed to the even more unwieldy "British television is the best in the world, and we're here to ITC it stays that way".
