I love dark humor and "The End" really fit the bill. I agree with the comment about this being an under-rated film; I would add, as well, that Burt Reynolds is an underrated actor. He is wonderful in this movie. The entire cast is great, especially Dom DeLuis. This has always been one of my favorite songs, and it's very hard to find. Thanks so much for posting.

Thanks for posting this, I had been looking for this version of the song!! This was one of my favorite movie theme songs of the 1970's. That movie "The End" wasn't too funny until the final scene where Burt Reynolds decides he wants to live and Dom DeLuise doesn't believe him and chases him all over the beach, trying to help him die. This song played on the final fade-out.

Oops, I gave the ending away. LOL.
