From what I just seen in the video above, the player took a step or two before going to the ground, The ball was caught and controlled with both feet on the ground. At what point is the play ended? I thought, if you caught the ball, and the breaks the plane of the end zone, you get a touch down. I thought on a running play, your body doesn't have to be in the end zone to score, only the ball. It was a caught ball....BAD CALL on th NFL refs and everyone supporting it. The fix is in.

I have NEVER seen a touchdown like this REVERSED! Not only was he down by contact, but he touched the ground with EVERY part of the body that signifies a convincing FINISHED play. I have NEVER seen anything like the bad calls the lions get. Guys loose the football hitting the pylon, after barely crossing the plane and that's a touchdown? C.J. catches the ball, gets knocked down, rolls around in the end zone, stands up and loses the ball out of bounds and it is NOT a touchdown?????

The rule is horrible as it is written now & very confusing for the fans but it's consistent with the act of a catch anywhere else on the field when the receiver catches the ball in the air. That's the difference from a running back crossing the plane cause he has established possesion on the ground.I can't remember the teams but this has happened 2X this year as well.You can't blame the refs for the calling the rule as written,it's the NFL's competition commitee who decides rule changes.

This should of been a TD. His feet were in bounds and he wuz down then we went out of bounds. U see a lot of other players droppin the ball in the endzone and they dont get called 4 it. This is RACISM.

Come week 5 on mnf the bears are gonna get their ass kicked. Go lions

@janderson65 Amen!!
One of the biggest things I hear about is that there is a "Process" of catching the ball. However, there is NO use of the word "Process" in the rule, let alone the definition of the how long the "Process" is . Let's face it, the NFL f*cked up. But since it's the Lions, who cares.

Not a bad call, rules are rules. A bad rule? Yes.

@MetalGearOtakon Yes, it's a bad rule. But how can that not be a bad call even with the way it's written?
Please, admit that you're wrong before people realize you don't know anything about football.

@janderson65 I know how to read and won't admit to being wrong. “if a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact with an opponent), he must maintain control of the ball after he touches the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, the pass is incomplete. If he regains control prior to the ball touching the ground, the pass is complete.”

@EZdashTARGET " He must maintain control after touching the ground" He did so, after touching the ground several times. He didn't lose control of the ball prior to the ball touching the ground - the pass is complete.

@MetalGearOtakon Yeah, a bad rule that clearly doesn't define this type of action. Read it - It's a bad interpretation of the rule.
