St Catherines monestary has this to say about the Holy Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him)'s letter:

According to the tradition preserved at Sinai, Mohammed (AS) both knew and visited the monastery and the Sinai fathers. The Koran makes mention of the Sinai holy sites. In the second year of the Hegira, corresponding to AD 626, a delegation from Sinai requested a letter of protection from Mohammed (S). This was granted, and authorized by him when he placed his hand upon the document. In AD 1517, Sultan Selim I confirmed the monasterys prerogatives, but took the original letter of protection for safekeeping to the royal treasury in Constantinople. At the same time, he gave the monastery certified copies of this document, each depicting the hand print of Mohammed (S) in token of his having touched the original.

  • no offense, but wasn't muhammad illiterate?

  • @TheJazuma The Prophet of Allah had his letters written by his Companions

  • funny how this video fails to mention that in order for the Christians to worship peacefully they would've had to pay the jyzra which is nothing more then extortion money

  • @Patrick59467 We Muslims who reside in Christian countries pay more in what you call TAXES.

  • @NaqshbandiOttoman But you don't pay more tax because you're Muslim, and you are not prevented from preaching your faith and seeking new converts....

Christians and other non Muslims had to pay higher taxes in the Caliphates, to this day Christians in many Muslim countries suffer persecution because of the faith

  • @oneblueorange Your information is incorrect. Christian and Jewish communities have flourished under Islamic rule, especially economically. In Christian and Jewish communities, their own religious laws applied. When it comes to "Muslim" countries, not a single Muslim accepts any current government as an Islamic state. Their deficiencies originate from the adaptation of western secular law.

  • @TheJazuma wats up brutha no offense taken if only everyone was as kind as u when they had a question we wouldn't have all these rap battles on u tube haha, im def not a scholar (not yet at least :) but yes it looks like the other brother answered ur question. And also since he (pbuh) was illiterate doesn't it throw out the theory that he (pbuh) wrote the Quran himself? Rather him being illiterate shows that the Quran MUST be words of the All-Mighty.

    Thank You Very Much =)

  • ADMIN!!!! U ARE A FUCKING LIER....DO NOT TELL LIES TO PEOPLE ABOUT TURKISH REPUBLIC....PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE NOT TRUE MUSLIM ANYWAY...THE WAY YOU LIVE ISLAM IS NOT TRUE .....YOU LIVE ARABIC TRADITION WHICH IS NOT IN KURAN!!!ARABS ARE THE ENEMY OF TRUE ISLAM!!!!!!!!

  • @ItalyStyler07 Christians like you makes me ashamed of being Christian.Your comments are just for the sake of arguing.Do you lose something if you learn something different and not stereo type.I am Christian but i still have great respect for Islam as a religion. It is those muzlims who don't know about their own religion, the most ignorant people.Only sheep follow the media. All religions of the world are based on peace and love for human beings. Its us how we usin it for our mean means.

  • people are quick to pick and choose bits of information for their everyday arguments but if you look at overall history you will find muslims were very respectful in their "conquests", in many cases the christians were not so forgiving and also went back on their word. I'm not trying to say anything bad about christianity but just realise this the so called advanced western world has only really come into it's higher ethics in the past 300 years or so. STOP BEING BIASED.

  • @Patrick59467 You should also know that jizzya was onle 1DINAR, per year which is today's $100. Only non-Muslim fighting-able men were required to pay this tax. Old people, women and children, priests, rabbis did not have to pay. Also, they did not have to go in any battle. $100 per year covers it all, administration, protection, freedom, etc.

  • @Patrick59467 that money went to the poor. its like tax. because they bought resources from muslims they paid every year or month or whatever a small amount of money that went to the poor or gave the poor items like sheeps or a meal or gold etc. it wasnt usery. there hadiths of the prophet giving away himself a herd of 100 sheeps to a disbeliever who was poor and who later became muslim, so the prophet wasnt a greedy man. the jizya is like tax but for a better purpose and reason.

  • orthodox religion is for clever people, not for sleeping ones

  • @Patrick59467 30% that us Muslims and the rest of Americans pay from our income is more than the typical jyzra tax, so which is better? In order for a nation to function with a working government taxes will be collected. Muslims had to pay taxes too on top of that a 2.5% zakat of their income for charity
