One of the many concerns with the violence in Myanmar is a potential flood of refugees into neighbouring Thailand, one of the main access points being Mae Sot. In fact there are many people from Myanmar already living here. David Hawkins spoke to two former soldiers who recently deserted from the Myanmar army.

    Good job !

  • Ten Steps to a Fascist dictatorship! The ten steps are: 1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy 2. Create a gulag 3. Develop a thug caste 4. Set up an internal surveillance system. 5. Harass citizens' groups 6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release 7. Target key individuals. 8. Control the press. 9. Dissent equals treason. 10. Suspend the rule of law!

(Here comes Bush's Directive 51) Bush doesn't have anything on Burma's government; he is a dictator too!

  • A countries army is to protect the country and its peoples from outside threats. Inside threats are dealt by National police. Two different worlds. Armies are trained for one thing, to close with enemy and destroy them. Police are trained to arrest with minimum force and let judge decide. That is how its done it the a developed country. Mynmar is the perfect example of a third world crackpot dictatorship. Army to deal inside only kills innocents. No freedom, no life. Too Bad, Burma.
