Gordon Brown Welcomes Show Racism the Red Card Campign Group To Downing Street

This is a video that shows a group of footballing stars old & new visiting Number 10 Downing Street, as part of the Show Racism the Red Card campaign.

The Prime Minister met members of the group, including Portsmouth defender Sol Campbell & well known commentator Kris Kamara, at a reception in the gardens of 10 Downing Street.

Gordon thanked the players & managers for fighting discrimination & promoting sport throughout the country.

The scheme used last nights event to present awards to people from the sporting community to recognise their commitment to the fight against racism.

Recipients at last nights awards included Peter Beardsley, Paul Elliott and Brian Deane.

Ex goal keeper Shaka Hislop & Honorary President of the campaign said:

"I think that the campaign has developed fantastically well. I believe that we have become an integral part of society now. Different communities have all embraced us and it is good to see that we are getting our message across to the kids. We are really making a difference."
