2009 Texas Book Festival: Frank Luntz, "What Americans Really Want...Really: The Truth about Our Hopes, Dreams, and Fears"
Frank Luntz appeared at the Texas Book Festival in Austin to discuss his new book, "What Americans Really Want...Really." Based on interviews with over 25,000 people, Mr. Luntz provides an analysis of how Americans live their lives and what they believe. From Square Books in Oxford, Mississippi, Harry Maclean recounts the murder case against Klansman James Ford Seale in The Past is Never Dead. Mr. Maclean recalls the death of Henry Dee and Charles Moore, two young black men who were kidnapped and killed after hitchhiking outside Meadville, Mississippi on May 2, 1964. The case was left unsolved for over forty years, until the FBI indicted James Ford Seale in 2007, then seventy-one years old, for the kidnapping and murder. Harry Maclean explores the reasons for the delay in convicting Mr. Seale and presents his thoughts on the former and current state of race relations in Mississippi. He discusses his book with Richard Howorth, owner of Square Books and former mayor of Oxford, Mississippi.

Raise your hands if you think Frank Luntz knows what Americans Want.?I saw on News today that Frank has a 'Focus Group' in Des Moines IA week that believes Obama is a 'Muslim'.My question as a Christian American is, 'What the Hell is wrong with being a Muslim'? Why are they debating this? We have enough religious 'fanatics' of all faiths to go around. If you are not a 'fanatic' I don't give a Damn what your religion is.What the Hell happened to Iowa? I live in TX now but grew up N. Iowa.

I like what Frank Luntz does -- trying to scientifically measure results.

I wonder why most parents do not make the relevant connection between our failing public school system with its progressive education methods and fears that their children will not be better off economically than themselves.
