The River Thames has supported London for thousands of years; as a major site for trade, crime, industry, war, for food, drink, death and debauchery, and even as the capital's rubbish bin. Britain's most iconic river is one of the world's richest archaeological sites, and the secretive Society of Thames Mudlarks has been finding the treasure since 1976.
