Detailed tying instructions for the Y2K fly. Purists cringe at this pattern, but it really does catch trout, particularly when the water is discolored.

  • Thanks I caught a lot of fish on it

  • Nice and easy fly. I tore the trout up on MLK day on the Little Red in Arkansas. Caught some really nice browns and rainbows. Lol several asked what i was using and told them and they had never heard of it. Oh well maybe i will keep it a secret.

  • Thank you. That helped me a lot. Going to try it now.

  • nice vid and fly. The trout don't care if we're purists or otherwise :) I use these colors in a lake that the water is tobacco colored and it catches chain pickerel, largemouth,

browns and 'bows and the usual assortment of panfish. Works like a charm. I had got the idea when the fish kept hitting my strike indicator...

The bead and the lead are a cool idea. I'll have to try that combo as well.

    Thanks.

  • i tied this fly last month and a curoius bass inhaled it! it very easy fly to tie and my fly box has aleast a couple y2k for warmwater!
